1989-1992
Marcus enrolled at the Mabel Fletcher College of Music in Liverpool and
successfully passed with a degree in Performing Arts.
1989-1991
He was the backing singer and guitarist in contemporary cabaret band 'Forty
Winks', who performed extensively throughout the North West of England.
1991-1992
After gaining confidence as a singer and songwriter, Marcus formed his own
band, 'Soul Providers', with former members of 'Forty Winks', Jonathan Layborn
and Jamie Aston. The band became the foundation to Marcus' musical style
and unique performances. With the band he wrote 15 original soul/pop songs
which gained much critical acclaim and won them a place in the National
Final of the 'Panasonic Rock School' hosted by Mike Reid & Athena Turner
for ITV's Granada Productions. After appearing on national television, Soul
Providers were introduced to record producer Les Spain, and made numerous
TV appearances and recordings for EMI and Talking Loud Records.
1992-1998
After a roller coaster 12-months, Soul Providers came to a natural end and
Marcus formed a very successful duo, 'Look No Further' and based himself
in the North East of England, and toured with numerous top cabaret act such
as The Chimes, The Mad Hatters, Too Hot, Heat Wave and many more popular
North East acts. During his stay in the North East he was managed by Dave
Carr Management, which took him to various parts of the world, for both
long and short stay tours.
1998- Present
Since 'Look No Further', wedding entertainer Marcus has been one of the North's most successful
up and coming wedding music performers. He has mastered the rare skill of being able to
judge the mood of his audience and perform accordingly. His down to earth
manner and love of performing means he always gives 100%, making him a truly
professional act. Since 1998, Marcus has established an excellent catalogue
of songs (click here for playlist). Marcus has also packaged various show tailored for you event (Click here for packages available). Since starting these shows, the demand for Marcus has been overwhelming with many bookings for
wedding music, private weddings, birthdays and corporate entertainment functions. At present,
wedding entertainer Marcus is in negotiations with many contacts after working and entertaining many celebrity weddings and functions he is available o hire throughout the UK and overseas.
